Our commitment. Your data is never collected for marketing or solicitation purposes, nor sold, rented or transferred to any third party. It is used solely for the purposes described below. Respecting and keeping you in control of your data is our priority.

Purposes

  • Distributing photographs taken during the event.
  • When enabled by the organizer with the participants' consent, allowing everyone to find their photos via face recognition. Off by default.
  • Allowing search by bib number (sporting events).

Data processed

  • Event photographs: taken and distributed by the photographer.
  • Facial biometric data (special category — GDPR Art. 9): processed only when face recognition is enabled for the event, on the basis of consent.
  • Selfie submitted by a visitor: used for the duration of the search for matching, never retained.
  • Session identifier: technical cookie strictly required for the gallery to function (linking an optional identity claim).

Legal basis

  • Face recognition: explicit consent (GDPR Art. 9.2.a), obtained by the event organizer from participants; for selfie search, the visitor's consent before each search.
  • Photo distribution and bib search: legitimate interest of the photographer and participants in finding their pictures (GDPR Art. 6.1.f).

Recipients and processors

No transfer outside the European Union, and no transfer for commercial purposes. Processing is performed via:

  • Face recognition (self-hosted): performed by software running on our own servers (hosted in the EU). No data is shared with any third-party service.
  • Google Vision API (reading of bib numbers) — Google Ireland Limited (Ireland, EU).

Retention

  • Gallery photographs: as long as the gallery is public, then deleted on request.
  • Biometric data: deleted no later than the end of the event, not retained beyond.
  • Visitor selfie: deleted immediately after the search.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data.

To exercise these rights, request the removal of a photo or the deletion of your data: [email protected].

You can also lodge a complaint with the French CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

Cookies

This site uses only a technical cookie (session identifier) strictly necessary for the gallery to operate. No analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies are set. No banner is required.

All photographs displayed on this site remain the exclusive property of Rüdi Welter. Any reproduction, download, distribution or use without prior written authorization is prohibited.
